Every digital system will have one or the other defects no matter how much robust the system is. Hence we see news about security breaches often. Even NSA is also not an exception. So is the Facebook.
I was not using Facebook often earlier. I started using it more frequently since last year. As a new user, it was easy for me to point out some of the small glitches that FB has. I felt very happy when I found a first bug in FB which was about video call . But soon, I encountered few ( precisely 5) issues in FB and reported them using their Reporting tool. Every time I submitted the Bug, I was expecting Bug bounty from Facebook(Bragging myself) . But for my disappointment, the reply from the Reporting tool bots is always the same that Your issue has been closed. I used to wonder how come I am not entitled to get a bug bounty at least for once out of 5 times but didn't have answer.
Fortunately I got a chance to talk with Facebook Technical team in one of the Android BBQ conference which held in Hurst.. I was very anxious about their reply . At the end of their session on Android in Facebook, I met them down the stage and asked thats I have submitted few bug reports in FB but still now I havnt got any bounty' They must have laughed inside but they were diplomatically answered saying ' Facebook get thousands of Bug reports daily which can reach even 50k a day as well. Most of them will be duplicate bug reports. and several of them would have been identified by Facebook employees itself. So it is very rare that someone get bug bounty . I was quite disappointed hearing to this but glad that my expectations were set straight. May be thats the reason i havnt found any bug after that :)
